Hi all,
I have no idea how big this list is, or it's technical level, but as I have a question I
thought it would be nice to start
introducing myself.
Having a technical background, I do some web development, and recently started using php to automate
some of the web tasks. I do
have a small LinuxPPC machine at home to do the development, and we do support several websites at
our production webserver (Redhat
Linux) for a few clients.
At the server we have PHP 4.0.1 pl2, at the development server I do have PHP 3.0.12.
I developed a small program that works fine at the development server, but not at the production
server. Specifically the statement:
ereg_replace("\W", "_", $id); seems to be not processed at all (meaning: replace
all non alphanumeric characters by an underscore).
Other ereg_replace calls are processed correctly on both servers.
Does anybody know why PHP 3.0.12 processes this correctly and PHP 4.0.1 pl2 doesn't? Is this a
bug?
Thanks in advance,
Ernst de Moor (the Netherlands)
