Forms pages

Ok. I'm gonna refer to the pages as 1, 2, and 3. I'm on page 1 and I press
a form submit button that takes me to page 2. Page 2 has input areas and I
fill em in (like name, address type stuff). I then press the submit button
on page 2 to go to page 3. Well, on page 3 for instance, lets say they
didn't enter all the required data on page 2 and we (on page 3) want to send
them back to page 2. How can I keep page 2 populated without having to
resend the data (via form) back to page 2? Is this becuase of using the
post method, or is it just somthing that's browser specific?
