Folks,
There have been repeated posts (about a dozen) on this list in the past
month about problems with PHP4 on Win2K giving errors like "PHP has
encountered an Access Violation at ..." But there's yet to be any
resolution.
I have convinced a Microsoft-using client to run PHP, which I'm happy about.
But PHP sporadically, with no alterations to the server, returns that error.
I can reload the page twice in 10 seconds -- once it works, the second time
I get that error. And I continue to get it every time that reload it for
the next 10 minutes, and then my page works again.
The page, BTW, is just phpinfo(). Naturally, the client believes this to be
a PHP problem. Rightly so, though I suspect that Windows is at fault.
Server Specs
------------
PHP Version: PHP Version 4.0.1pl2
System: Windows NT 5.0 build 2195 with IIS 5.0
Server API ISAPI
MySQL Version: 3.23.10-alpha
I'd get the sysadmin to upgrade PHP, but I don't see anything in the
changelogs that would indicate that this would help. (More important, I
think it would frustrate the sysadmin.) tom.com@hongkong.com's post on 09-04
indicates that this problem exists in the most recent build. But if y'all
think this is something worth doing, I will.
Any ideas?
TIA,
Waldo
