Hi All,
apologies for the cross-post, but I am very hopeful that someone can help me
with a strange problem.
I recently installed PHP 4.0.2 on a WinNT 4 box. Everything seems to be
installed correctly, and PHP runs really well. However, I am noticing a
couple of anomalies, which I hope you can help me with:
[Note, I have installed PHP as .DLLs, not as a CGI executable]
1) Often (but not always) when my code generates some sort of PHP error, it
has the effect of somehow "locking" the affected .php file on the server.
When I try to delete the file, either via FTP or directly from the computer,
I get "Access denied" errors. It appears that the file is somehow being left
open, and I can't delete it until I reboot. PHP continues working just fine
during all of this, but I can't do anything with that file until I reboot.
2) [This may be related to issue #1) We also have ASP installed on this NT
box. Ever since I installed PHP, ASP has been intermittently dying. Nothing
short of a reboot (and sometimes two reboots!) gets ASP back up on its feet.
When ASP is dead, PHP continues working just fine.
This is making our ASP developer rather unimpressed with PHP.
If anyone has any insights, or has encountered either of these issues, would
you please give me your feedback? I would be very grateful.
thanks,
michael geary
