Mark,
You can't do what you want to do using only HTML 4.00 W3C - but you can with Javascript.

At this url I've set up your test case. Because it is client side you can view source to see
how it works. Essentially I've just added a value property/attribute and then tested for it
with Javascript as launched with the onclick event handler.

Subject: problem with image button
Hi there,
Let's say I have a form with three image buttons:
<input type=image name=add src="add.gif">
<input type=image name=delete src="delete.gif">
<input type=image name=update src="update.gif">
when I process the form I want to see what button was pressed, but
instead of add being set, add.x and add.y get set.
now the question is: what's the best way to check which one is set
since doing this:
if(isset($add.x)) ...
gives a parse error?
thanks,
- Mark
