sorry, there was some confusion about the way I worded the question.
I was asking how to check which image button on a form is hit since
the browser adds a .x and .y to the name when it gets sent.
$name.x doesn't work because php wouldn't parse it properly so
apparently it gets changed to $name_x. If any developers are reading,
I think it might be a good feature to have php automatically set
$name as well, maybe to 'on' which is the default value for checked
checkboxes.
I got a range of responses on this one including one flame telling me
to RTFM on the . operator. All I can say to this one is that
attitudes like this really kill a good list. It's one thing if a
question gets repeated 10 times a day, but I've been reading this
list for a year or so now and I never noticed a thread like this so
let's try to keep it friendly.
Many thanks to those who offered suggestions,
- Mark
p.s. the stupid button still doesn't work right in netscape.
oh well...
