multi dimetional arrays in functions

hi there .. I'm trying again ... I have a problem where I step thru a result from while $row=(mysql_fetch_array($result)) and assining values from the array .. hich is fine .. but I want to put all that into an array where I can link the values to the first element in the mysql result field so ... basicaly I have a mysql field containsing ID,name,surname,data and I want to put all that into an array where the data is linked to the ID so I can get the datat out for each ID afterwards .. any ideas ? henti
