Dear Friends, I need a book recommendation about "PHP 4" matter, as follows: PHP 4 Bible by Tim Converse and Joyce Park Web Application Development with PHP 4.0 (with CD-ROM) by Tobias Ratschiller, Till Gerken SAMS Teach Yourself PHP4 in 24 Hours (Teach Yourself -- 24 Hours) by Matt Zandstra Php Fast & Easy Web Development by Julie C. Meloni Sams Teach Yourself MySQL IN 21 Days (Teach Yourself -- 21 Days) by Mark Maslakowski

my 2c would be: I've been for some while on this list but hardly remember any of the author names listed above.

Julie, Tobias and Till (at least) are well-known on this list. I'd suggest, in addition to visiting the books page listed below, that you go to www.amazon.com and read the reviews of books there. Note that Amazon lists for each book authors of related books, so you can read about competing books as well.

I would go with somebody who is on this list, so you would eventually have the opportunity to talk with him/her directly about the book, and be sure it's from the PHP comunity (if you care about it). a good start would be http://www.php.net/books.php. -- teodor
