1. Which exactly is the line that gives you that error, the first one?
2. What is the comment // doing there?
3. did you try to use double quotes for the whole variable like
$this->customer_ID="$this->form['customer_ID']";
4. this is not the case, but I would try to make .._ID=$thi.. to be .._ID =
$thi..
