Hi Peter,
What is your configuration ? Are you using PHP on Windows by any chance ?
If you are running it in some sort of UNIX, you could create a CRON job to
run a php script, get all the new orders from the web, and execute an
external command to print the orders. Maybe you would need to create
temporary files with the orders taken out from the database to do this,
but it's not so hard after all.
