How much data? And I'm curious as to why you want to do this. Two ways come
to mind ..
select the data you want
fetch it into an array row by row
update or insert into the second table using the contents of the array
or
select the data
fetch into an array
write it out, comma delimited, to a text file
use load data infile (or mysqlimport) to add it to the target table
Check the MySQL Utilities part of the MySQL manual.
