hi, have one very interesting question : if I have to change somthing in /usr/local/lib/php3.in - how is it possible to reread php3.ini without a restart ? Have discovered, that my errormessage "Fatal ..." now is going away. Have deleted the prepend.php3 entry there, and have done a reboot, because was looking for some other little problems like starting httpd, named and so on for automatically. And now, after rebooting the machine my simple Hello.php3 appears . In every case I now have a basicly running php3. So the next step can be to install phplib. Is anybody there, who has experience with configuring the php3.ini-file correct ? especially the needed pathes and their contents ? Don't know exactly which entries, pathes etc. in prepend.php3 are necessary : here is what I have in prepend.php3 : } require($_PHPLIB["libdir"] . "db_mysql.inc"); /* Change this to match your database. */ require($_PHPLIB["libdir"] . "ct_sql.inc"); /* Change this to match your data storage container */ require($_PHPLIB["libdir"] . "session.inc"); /* Required for everything below. */ require($_PHPLIB["libdir"] . "auth.inc"); /* Disable this, if you are not using authentication. */ require($_PHPLIB["libdir"] . "perm.inc"); /* Disable this, if you are not using permission checks. */ require($_PHPLIB["libdir"] . "user.inc"); /* Disable this, if you are not using per-user variables. */ /* Additional require statements go below this line */ /* Additional require statements go before this line */ require($_PHPLIB["libdir"] . "local.inc"); /* Required, contains your local configuration. */ require($_PHPLIB["libdir"] . "page.inc"); /* Required, contains the page management functions. */ ?> Where can I find any descriptions - a step by step -doc for beginners with phplib ? Maybe, I can find such questions answered there ? Thanks in advance Hans Schneidhofer
