This isn't possible to do reliably. There's a big discussion about
validating email
addresses in "Programming Perl," but it turns out there's no foolproof way
to do
so, with regular expressions or otherwise. Why not send an email to the
address
entered with a line saying "Reply with subject: AX19829X" - type thing and
verify it that way?
