The fact that the values got reset in your second form validion code
indicates that your second form validation code isn't handling the variables
and/or hidden form elements properly.
If this second validation process has functions, did you global each
variable? Are the hidden inputs actually inside the <form> tags?
Again, your process should work fine if you do your programming correctly.
Personally, I like having everything in one script. This makes it easier to
reuse the same exact form scrpit in the event something is invalid and needs
to be corrected by the user, rather than having to create two parallel form
scripts.
