Well said Justin, this is the philosophy of my life.
No matter how well you know the tree you're still new in the forest.
A good tutorial has to be a site with articles that have some sequence, few
codes to explain better what we are talking about and never go deeper then
what was already written on php.net or these other never-saw-even-a-graphic
text-made websites.
these are perfect, but, people who reads them do not really need any help,
they are professional programmers or crazy amateurs already:-))
Now here on internet EVERYONE (or almost) got a website, who is a little,
just a little more interactive with visitors will always need to process at
least one form, so, means, he/she will need a server-side pr. language.
what's easier to start from Perl or PHP? Guess PHP...
where will you get a better people to explain it to you, on perl or for php
sites/lists? PHP. ...
That kind of people needs some good, well written websites dedicated to PHP
only..
I shouldn't even talk about it right now, it's like telling you my business
plan (I am building a website called PHPBeginner.com, guess what it is
about...) , but since php is an open-source and I very respect it I can
reveal you few things... here... in list ... :-))
I would like somehow to cooperate with Bill Zeller, and with ALL OF YOU to
help each-other bring more people to build database enabled and better
quality websites.
many many people are interested in PHP, some of them still consider it a
hard thing to learn and some of them do not even try to learn it, so here I
want to change the things, tell them that it's much simpler then they though

Nup, no flames :) relax :)
I guess what I was getting at is that tutorials and examples are both
pretty thin. When I was in high-school years a go, they didn't teach me
how to solve individual algebra problems -- they taught me *algebra*.
Sure, there was examples, but they taught me how solve my own problems,
not one specific problem.
I could write a tutorial on validating a form... it might validate that
a name has been entered, and that the email address *looks* like a valid
address, and i might make sure they selected something from a pull down
menue, whatever, but it's only teaching them how to validate *that*
form. If I start further back, and teach them HOW TO VALIDATE ANY FORM,
i can give them the tools to use for ever... they will still have to be
creative, get deepo into regular expressions etc etc, but i believe a
general tutorial on the topic is better than an example.
yes, examples have helped me out 100's of times, but I'd love to learn
rather than copy :)
blah blah blah
