I'd have to say that more than likely it'd help some. Only you can determine it for
certain - if there is a lot of compressable stuff, then yes. It would be faster to
send 50k than 400k over the same wire. How fast the other machine can *uncompress*
then render may affect things some, but I'd suspect it's still faster. We're using
it
and it has seemed to help in some cases - people on dialup connections are
reporting that the site 'feels faster', but those at the client's office on T1s and
such
don't seem to notice too much. An average page size for us is ~40-50k, for comparison.
