The auto_prepend config directive allows you to automatically prepend a
file to any documents served. You want to keep private the contents of
certain included files whilst using them across your system. To prevent
someone from gaining the include file name from php scripts and maliciously
accessing the included files via fopen (as was suggested) you could use the
prepend facility to include the contents, or call the specific include
files. This way the name of the included files does not need to be made
'public' and thus it's a bit harder for them to be found.
If I'm not making myself clear, feel free to contact me direct.
