mysql funcs ingnore port parameter

Hi,
I have 2 instances of mysql one running on 3306 , another on 3307. When
I use mysql_connect("localhost:3307","user","passwd") mysql_connect()
ignores 3307 parameter and connects to 3306. What could be wrong? Where
to move it? I compiled php-3.0.17 and mysql-3.23.27 (both lastests) from
sources. Changing php.ini to set default port to 3307 doesn't help
either. Im using Apache 1.3.9
Please help!
