I hope you mean by Visual Basic ASP, if you're not you are
better of using python or perl instead of php (although
some people would argue with me about that).
It kind of depends of your previous programming background,
I came from C(++) as a fact I am still programming in it,
with this backround going to PHP is very easy. Forget about
pointers and you're almost done.
VB/Asp is nice for very small programs, but for large projects
the code gets messy and unmaintainable.
To upgrade from ASP to PHP, should not be very difficult although
your programmer should learn a new syntax.

I've been talking to a developer about a game project. He's used to
writing desktop apps with Visual Basic.
For those of you who are fluent in PHP and Visual Basic, how difficult
do you think it would be for him to pick up PHP and convert some of his
apps?
I'd just like to have some input before I suggest it.
