Hi,
I have been using Allaire Homesite since i started web development, and have
kept using it since ,mt Transition to PHP.
Homesiet is great for just about any scripting PHP, Javascript, Perl, The
main 2 features I like are
1 Color coding -
All PHP is color coded!
Un-terminated strings stand out like a sore thumb!
Other sctiprting languages are color coded as well!
2 Custom Menus,
I ah bult a few menus in homesite over the last year that
save me typing oout the same code again and agian.
**********
I have also recently installed a program called PHPCoder
Its works well can talk to directly to you webserver and PHP
and also has a nice feature which enables searching fot he PHP manual
the disadvantage here is there are no customisable shortcut menus
so i have not taken up using PHPCoder full time.
For those who have some Delphi know how there is a Delphi control that has a
PHP color coder
A Delohi freak I know was telling me about it and hes rather keen on PHP
himself so we may have a go
at a decent PHP IDE. Something that would operate like VB5, with drop down
menus for functions
etc. At this stage its only talk but who knows. With imminent release of
Kylix(Delphi for Linux)
a cross platform solution would certainly be an option.
Food for though anyway
Cheers
Steven

Personally,
I currently use TextPad, and I liked it more tha Ultredit, when i checked
ultredit out (a while back...)
I had seen a editor that had a builtin code tester, which actually ran your
code through PHP and gave you an output.... wonder if anything more
substantial was made with that...
