Can't say for sure because Ive never been in a situation that gets as
many hits as yahoo.com, maybe I should post this on slashdot, haha.
I would take a good guesss and say dynamic pages will create more cpu
load, any time your asking the server to create a page on the fly, vs
pulling a static page up, sure its going to take longer.
You could use php to generate static pages, sure. I had a page wich
updatated the stats on the amount , type, and price of equipment and
aprts I had in the database, its was processor and sql intensive, it took
45sec to generate the page. To speed things up I had cron create a static
page of the results once an hour. now the stats page takes less then a
second to load, but the content is not updated realtime....
