Problem with Interbase connection and validation

Hi I need some help with setting up an initial connection to interbase and if interbase makes an connection based on the username and password that was initially set by interbase (to use a delphi application whiuch I am converting to be web enabled), to then make a second connection to the database (inprorpi.gdb) validating the second pair of username and password against the USERCONTROL table.Otherwise just to give an error message. This is my problem that I can't just make a straight forward connection, interbase first has to validate the connection. Any suggestions?
