you have to use OCIbindbyname, before executing, after parsing...
otherwise it will fail. the syntax is even worse for using CLOBs....
you can find gooooood examples in the manual at www.php.net

| Some databases do not support direct insets or updates if a
| single comumn is more than 2000-4000 chars. You should use blobs
| or some kind of server specific code to handle this type of data
| (I asume it would be impossible so switch to another database
| where large text colums are allowed ?)

| Unfortunately, I think this means that I cannot add text more
| than 4000 characters long. I have a feeling I should be using
| blobs or such like, but I haven't used them before. Has anyone
| else experienced this problem? Have you got any tips? I use Oracle 8.
