I have been working with PHP & MySQL for awhile now but never on a large
scale site.
I have a client who wants a database built for a record store that will have
over 100,000 items.
Can MySQL handle this?
Also, can anyone suggest a good place to start for building high end PHP
e-commerce sites in terms of security and performance, as well as backing up
data...
I am also going to recommend that they get a dedicated server with the
following:
PIII 800
512MB RAM
18 Gig SCSI Drive
Is this sufficient?
I know this is kind of a weird email, but the only things ive really done
with PHP & MySQL is the kind of stuff you learn in Sam's 24 Hour book and
Juli Meloni's Essentials.
Thanks!!!
