It seems like there is always a big price break when e-commerce features come into play, which I don't need. But some more disk space and transfer than most of the low cost hosts would be nice. The idea is to provide a central collection of book and website reviews, chess texts, chess curiosities, specialized game collections, chess publishing information, a limited set of chess software tools, etc. The site is to be ad-free and not for profit. I need: 200mb, decent transfer allotment, PHP (4 preferably), MySQL db (at least one), anonymous ftp, mail service with a few POP accounts and alias/forward/autoresponder, smtp service, ftp/telnet access, ftp/telnet access It would be really great to have: .htaccess control, access by mydomain.com as well as www.mydomain.com , subdomains (mychoice.mydomain.com) The best I have seen so far is nethollywood.net, but I have heard mixed reviews. Since this all comes from my pocket as a service, the less expensive the better, but I am not expecting to find a free host or anything!
