In Australia have a look at www.whereis.com and www.goeureka.com.au both
owned and by our giant telco telstra.
Telstra also use php in their Stock Watch pages (stockquotes.telstra.com)
but i think you need to log in for that.

The site is template driven and runs on PHP and MySQL fuel.
