A "class" is simply a struct with build-in methods.
It's a group of data and methods to access/set that data.
For PHP, that's about all you need to know since there's no data-hiding.
If you need to really learn them to take advantage of inheritence/objects
here's a couple good C++ books..
C++ Complete Reference - McGrawHill - Schildt
C++ How to Program - Prentice Hall - Deitel/Deitel
