What about doing this $var[1] = "joe bob"; print serialize($var); I think that will mess it up a bit -----Original Message----- From: Boget, Chris [mailto:Chris.Boget@wild.net] Sent: Tuesday, November 14, 2000 9:27 AM To: 'Myke Hines' Cc: PHP (E-mail) Subject: RE: [PHP] encrypting (low level) > You could just use the serialize the variable. Indeed. And I thought of that (I should have specified as much and ruled out as an option in my previous email). However, the user still sees the actual value. Consider: echo serialize( "joe bob briggs" ); prints out: s:14:"joe bob briggs"; Not that difficult to screw with. I'm hoping for something that will obscure the value altogether.
