How to update info in the database

Hi, can anyone help me with the syntax for updating info to the database.
This is what I have with a select statement, how do I change it to do an
update?
if ($Submit)
{
$GetDeductionDetailQuery = "SELECT DESCRIPTION,AMOUNT,BALANCE,COMPULSORY
FROM ADMCLIDEDUCTION
where CLIENTNO='ADM108'";
$GetDeductionDetailQuery_Result =
ibase_query($GetDeductionDetailQuery,$connection)
or die ("Couldn't execute query");

<input type="text" name="text2" >
<input type="text" name="text3" >
<input type="text" name="text4" >
<input type="submit" name="Submit" value="Submit">
etc.
