Lose the frameset. I have had this problem to and easily solved it by just dumping the frameset. -----Original Message----- From: Timo Haimi [mailto:timo.haimi@milnet.fi] Sent: Thursday, 16 November 2000 3:25 PM To: php-general@lists.php.net Subject: [PHP] problem with many scripts running at the same time.. Hello all, I've got a strange problem with running few scripts at the same time. I'm developing a webmail and I need it to perform few tasks in the background (new mail checks etc) in it's own frame. The problem is that the scripts dont run at the same time for some reason. If one checks mail in frame 1, the other frame is useless until mailcheck is comlete. You can notice this yourselves by running the scripts shown below (tested with ie5, ns4 and ns6): --- dotter.php --- <? for ($i=0;$i<1000;$i++) { echo "."; flush(); usleep(50000); } ?> --- eof --- --- frameset.php --- <html> <head> <frameset rows="50%,50%"> <frame src="dotter.php"> <frame src="dotter.php"> </frameset> </head> </html> --- eof --- If I run the frameset, it only executes the first frame and other frame starts to load after frame1 is completed. If I start 2 browserwindows, both run the dotter.php at the same time, as it should work. But not when they are in same session/browser/frameset. Why? And how can I make this frameset work? And please dont tell me to lose the frameset ;). I checked php.ini for something that would solve this and didn't find anything.
