My original intention was to raise the issue of the quantity (and quality
too) of development houses who are promoting the use PHP (vice java/jsp or
coldfusion) - rather than the quality of PHP itself. We all know that PHP
outperforms other engines in development and operation.
My point: will I, with an RFP (specifically stating requirements for
PHP/MySQL/Apache) for website development work, get responses from major dev
houses - not just coders in their basements?
My second point, or more like a thesis: would a certification program help
provide credibility to PHP and the developer pool. Thus, raising the
prospect of development houses validating PHP as a formidible platform
option. Look what the certification scheme has done for other arenas...
I know this is a little off topic, but just want to throw my opinion out
there for comment.
Thanks.
