Sorry if this is a painfully stupid question but it's been a long day.
If I do authentication with .htaccess would the $PHP_AUTH_USER still be
available as a variable to other scripts on a CGI install of PHP?
That's another question how can I tell it PHP is installed as CGI or as a
module.
