As you can see there are a few options. Galvin Max suggest a socket
connection. With this you have to take certain security issues into
account. This is always the case when allowing the web_user which is
basically anyone and everyone to execute files.
To answer your question about except. It is a lanugage based on TCL. You
can execute is as a CGI script just like you would perl #!/path/to/expect .
It has many complex options but you could get by with the simple ones. Just
to give you an example.
expect "login:"
send "loginname\n"
expect "Password:*"
sleep 5
send "password\n"
#Here you're expecting the prompt
expect "*$*"
send "cd /home3/app/oracle/product/8.1.7/ows/ows/4.0/www/hr_pl_sql_file \n"
...
It's your choice. You have a few options.
