Hi,
I currently use Front Page 2000 as my tool for designing simple web pages.
I've found that it is a good tool for doing layout work. Once I've finished
the layout work and I'm ready to integrate my PHP3 code, I've been running
my HTML through a conversion program I wrote that basically converts the
entire HTML file to PHP3 statements. This has worked fine for me up to this
point, however, I've finally reached the point where I'd like to just leave
my HTML alone and embed my PHP3 snippets inside of my HTML. The problem that
I'm running into is that the Front Page editor treats the PHP3 statements
like text and it screws the alignment and the visual effect of using the
editor. I've tried wrapping the PHP3 code with the Script Language tags and
the <!--hide tags, etc. This works well for the visual development process,
however, when I upload my pages to the server, (Linux 6.2 / Apache with
PHP3, IMAP, MySql support compiled in), the PHP interpreter fails to
recognize the embeded PHP statements, until I remove the Script Language &
hide tags. Is there anyway around this? I suppose I could run my HTML
through a program before uploading it, similar to what I'm doing now, except
that the program would strip out the Script Language tags, etc. I'm just
posting this message in hopes that I'm missing a really simple solution that
I just can't seem to see.
Thanks,
Brett
