Hi,
There is no problem with the speed of Sybase. It's running on a Sun E450 and
there are almost no load at all on the server. So we can produce the pages
direct from the database. But what we want is an even faster method, e.g. a
memory cache. We are using the cache method on iPlanet and it works great.
And now we are checking if it's possible to transfer this method to
Apache/PHP.
The reason way we can't change database is that we are sharing data between
the different sites (iPlanet and Apache/PHP). And if we in the future would
change database it would probably be to Oracle.
