Just do: mysql_connect (mysqlhost,username,password); where mysqlhost is an IP number or hostname like db.yourdomain.com, and assuming the database allows 'username' to connect with 'password', you're in. The errors in your email give me the impression you just don't have permission to connect to the database with that username/password combo.
