Does anyone have any idea how I can retrieve POP3 email (for insertation into a database) in the
following sistuation:
Outside of my WWW dir I have a mail dir. Each box is a seperate .txt file. So mail sent to
foo@bar.com get appended to the end of the file /home/bar/MAIL/foo.txt
I can create a file in the WWW dir to include foo.txt and display it in it's entirety, however,
I'd much rather have the info stored in a database so I can retrieve the messages one-by-one,
make folders, in other words web-based email. I can even write php script in foo.txt (make it parse
with .htaccess), but nonetheless the incoming message will be appended to the end of the file, not
processed by it.
Any thoughts/ideas/suggestions/coffee would be appreciated. Before I forget: it's php4.x in
apache running in linux, with no IMAP support.
Thanks.
Dusty
