Postgres and longblob

I know this isnt a php question, but still hope I can get an answer.
Im playing with Postgres for the first time and it it sais it doesn't
know what a longblob or blob is.
CREATE TABLE table1 ( stockno INT, image LONGBLOB );
I don't want to re-write a large amount of code, Ive allready got over
30,000 images in my MySQL db.
