this is a common situation with over-intelligent databases in general. If
you have yank dates set it will assume 01/06 as the 6th jan, however if you
then feed it 20/06 it will realise you want a european date, but only for
that date. This is typical microshaft(tm) trying do second guess what you
want to do (like plug and pray).
