Do you know about Fravia's site?
www.searchlores.org
Lots of information about this subject.
There are links there to the php site http://www.2113.ch/phplab
PHP and Anonymity
http://www.2113.ch/phplab/anonymity.htm
Not that I would ever need anything like that here in China ;)
Cheers,
Lawrence.

Subject: Re: [PHP] build an anonymizer in PHP
Hi,
Thanks for the feedback.
I have to admit I'm quite new to PHP. However I believe it must be a good
choice for such a project. Actually the problems I face are beyond the scope
of PHP.
It is very interesting that you have already tried to implement SSL support
to your project as I would also like the anonymizer to be able to work with
SSL but it is currently beyond my knowledge. As far as I know, apart from
the famous Anonymizer, almost all Web-based anonymizers only support HTTP
(no HTTPS, no cookies). So I guess it is not easy.
An alternative could be to configure a whole server (eg. Apache) to act as a
proxy and relay any kind of traffic (HTTP, HTTPS, FTP) - a bit like
Space-Proxy.
I will be happy to hear from all interested parties in the mail list.
And BTW no, I'm not German !
Regards,
