After trying many many permutations of sttings, config options etc.. I am
about to give up. My goal:
PHP3 built statically with apache 1.3.14. Here is my process:
Untar fresh apache 1.3.14 package and configure as follows:
./configure --prefix=/usr/local/apache --enable-module=all
--enable-shared=all
Next untar PHP3 and configure as follows:
./configure --with-apache=/usr/local/src/apache-1.3.14
--with-oracle=/u01/app/oracle/product/8.1.6 --with-mysql=/usr/local/mysql
--with-xml
Under this setup, PHP3 will build, (I can do a make and then make install).
I then configure apache as follows:
./configure --prefix=/usr/local/apache --enable-module=all
--enable-shared=all -activate-module=src/modules/php3/libphp3.a
Apache will not compile from this point.
Changing options above, ie leaving out oracle or mysql, or xml, etc.. have
no effect. Configuring apache w/o enable-module=all and enable-shared=max
has no effect either.
After many many permutations of this, I decided to try and build PHP3 as a
DSO. Once again, after following the instructions perfectly, using fresh
tar's of apache and php, PHP3 failed to build.
I am doing this on SuSE 7.0.
I get PHP4 to build statically fine with all the above options but some
stuff we are usnig will not work with PHP4.
Can anyone point me in a different direction???
Thanks greatly,
-Chuck
