what if you aren't using cookies? How can I have the session expire after a
given number of minutes, hours, days or whatever?

Thanks Anthony,
This is what I may need. I did a PHPINFO and session.cookie_lifetime is 0. I
guess this means sessions never expire unless explicitely with
session_destroy()?

The problem is, your question can be interpreted in a few ways.
If you're tracking your session with cookies, you could edit your php.ini
file and change the "session.cookie_lifetime" value.

Hi!,
What is the best way to have an expiration time on a session?
