Try to replace the
ErrorDocument 404 http://......
with
ErrorDocument 404 /nameofscript.php
That is for internally handle the 404. When doing the first one,
you will loose the variable you are seeking.

Hi,
I'm getting into my error routine successfully but when i pull up
$REQUEST_URI or $REDIRECT_URI or $REDIRECT_URL I just get the name of the
error script - rather than the name of the failed script
