Faster development cycle, because PHP is _specifically_designed_ to
accelerate web development.

ASP sucks, and it's owned. Plus you have to run it on NT, so you have to
reboot your servers every month or so :)
CFML is arcane, slow, expensive, and it looks like HTML. I my opinion it
isn't actually a real programming language.
JSP is solid, but that comes at a tremendous price: development headaches. I
have been involved in projects that lagged because they used JSP.
PHP Is the only full-on, open-source language for web development. I can
send an e-mail to one of the authors about something, and actually get a
response. This is not something I can do with any of those other crappy
languages.

Cost effective (duh, free)
Rippin' fast.
TONS of free software (and I'm about to make that even more true:
binarycloud.com)
That oh-so-groovy opensource spirit. If you make itm share it, and someone
else will make it better.
> - Scaleability
So long as PHP is paired with an adequate DBMS (aka oracle), you can scale
it with out a problem.
> - Case Studies of existing solutions
Shortly.

It basically comes down to this:
-PHP Compiles into the world's most popular webserver
-It is fast as hell
-It has a large, active developer community
-It costs nothing
-It is very easy to work with
'nuff said.
