In the HTML form, leave off the dollar sign ($).
It should be <input type="radio" value="<?php echo
htmlspecialchars($D4);?>" name="C4"><?php echo $D4;?>
^^^ ^^^^
notice no single quotes. no double quotes needed.
htmlspecialchars() is added to prevent characters like ", ', <, >, and
& from showing up in the form, which, if they did, would break the
form.
