How Compiling php4 with IMAP and LDAP support?

Hello,
I'm using Cobalt RAQ3, with apache-1.3.6. I want to let apache as it. My
goal is to install
Horde/IMP.
How I can install PHP4 (from tarballs!) including IMAP and LDAP support?
I'm learning the INSTALL file but still having difficult to install it.
Forther no information
is given here on the IMAP support.
Is possible to copy Config section of phpinfo() of my navigator and put
it directly on my prompt?
