ola,
quick note on RH7,
stay away.
I installed in on an in house dev machine, and promptly uninstalled it once
I ran it a bit.
it's full of problems, they moved all kinds of things around, the RPMs are
all screwed up (the include a late-model gcc that is still buggy, for
example.. I've heard terrible things about the mysql rpm) among other ickys.
I'd strongly advise sticking with 6.2 until _at_least_ 7.1 comes out.
or, follow oracle:
when oracle 8i runs on redhat 7, I'll install redhat 7. that will be a
fairly good sign that redhat 7 is up to par.
........
anyone know of a good redhat-compliant, server optimized linux distro that
doesn't assume you want stupid packages for everything?
who else doesn't mind downloading and compliing source to get everything the
way they like it?
:)
