Well, your intentions are a bit vague as expressed here. I'm assuming that you
want to send faxes to other fax machines initiated via e-mail. Am I right?
If so, and assuming you're using *NIX, then you may want to consider HylaFAX
(http://www.hylafax.org). It comes with a feature called faxmail which is
intended for this very purpose, however, you can very easily implement a
procmail recipe to do almost the same thing also, which is what I've done. All
of that configuration is documented on the website. See the HOW-TO.
As for PHP's application in it... you could conceivably create a front-end
client for HylaFAX using a PHP-driven page... or simply something like IMP.
