SENDMAIL stopped sending through PHP - help?!?

Can you help debug why SENDMAIL might have stopped working with PHP all of a sudden on our Linux webserver?
Sendmail does work on the command line. Like: echo "hello" > sendmail -t subject testing@hotmail.com (yes it even sends externally.)
But just won't be seen by PHP anymore.
Yes "php.ini" is configured correctly. Hasn't changed in a month or so. /usr/sbin/sendmail -t -i
And (IMPORTANT) - up until 3 days ago it worked fine, and we haven't changed anything since then. (yes really!)
Can anyone help me debug this? I know Linux & PHP quite well. Just never had to debug sendmail before.
