Hi. I'm having a bit of a problem with the register_globals parameter in
the php.ini. First, my environment.
PHP 4.0.0 (Apache module)
Apache 1.3.12
SunOS 5.7
If I hit a page on the server (index.php?tst=1) I would expect to see $tst
"registered" as a global variable. However it's not. phpinfo() shows only
$HTTP_GET_VARS["tst"]. I absolutely have register_globals = on in my
/usr/local/lib/php.ini. In fact phpinfo() shows that it is turned on. I
know my php.ini is being referenced because I can change another config item
(track_vars or auto_prepend_file for example), bounce apache and then
phpinfo() will show the change.
The variable was being registered globally this morning. The admin folks
changed the hostname and IP address this afternoon. Now, when I hit the new
hostname/address no global variables. I can't imagine that the host/IP
changes have any bearing, would they? Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
-Steve.
